As you know we passionately believe that training can be done better. The article “Global trends in vocational education and training”, by Dandolo Partners, is an interesting read and it covers a number of topics that we have found people in the training industry are struggling with.
Some interesting points in the article include:
- The risk for VET providers is that they become the ‘trainers of last resort’: servicing the most challenging and least profitable cohort;
- Superficially, the outlook for vocational education and training providers is bright …. however, the changing skills market (for supply and demand) has burdened providers with added complexity, risk and uncertainty;
- The 7 global trends, shown in the image above;
- A discussion on strategies for student retention;
Overall I found it to be a very interesting and thought provoking read.
Without a doubt the future of training is bright, and it is going to play a pivotal role in assisting industry to be competitive in the local and global markets. But, and it is a big but, it is going to be quite a different market place ….
