CPCCWHS1001

One of Ammonite's clients, Inscope Training, has created the learning resources and assessments designed for online delivery of the new White Card unit of competency (CPCCWHS1001).

This unit, which will be mandatory from early December 2017, has been updated to address the issues highlighted in ASQA's White Card review. Consequently this has provided some challenges for RTO's that use online delivery.

These concerns have been addressed quite seamlessly, particularly by the use of Ammonite's Validity and Authenticity Technology. Furthermore Ammonite has released a brand new media server capable of streaming video in real-time over the internet using the WebRTC Standard. This standard provides modern web browsers with real-time communication capabilities.

Quality Indicator Reporting

Quality Indicator Reporting

Just a reminder that RTO's have statutory requirements to submit an Annual Summary Report of the Learner and Employer Questionaires to ASQA by the 30th June 2016.

We have designed our platform to streamline administrative processes, especially with respect to the requirements of the VET sector. Consequently the Ammonite TOMS can automatically distribute, record and then collate the results of these questionaires for you. This leaves RTO's the more important task of reviewing and acting on these results.

Crossfit Regionals 2016

Crossfit Regionals 2016

To keep us at the forefront of innovation, we continually embrace progressive practices throughout our lives. Our office environment/culture is certainly not immune either. To combat the issues surrounding 'sitting is the new smoking' the entire office has switched to standing desks months ago.

Combined with the occasional lunchtime workout, and the 30 minute pushup timer (which comes around all too quickly!) all of the staff here at Ammonite also do Crossfit.

Ammonite would like to especially congratulate Tim Harris on his recent achievement in making the Crossfit Regionals for 2016 in the Asia / Pacific region. Tim placed 7th in Australia in the Crossfit Open which is an awesome effort. Well done!

Ammonite Market Place - Best Practice on Multimedia Learning

Ammonite Market Place - Best Practice on Multimedia Learning

Are you confused with the countless opinions on best practices for creating effective multimedia content?

One incredibly valuable resource that, for years, has shaped our methodologies is a book called "e-Learning and the Science of Instruction" by Clark and Mayer.

Rather than opinions and personal philosophies, this book is based on the scientific theory of how people learn, and the results from over twenty-five years of research on multimedia learning. It is a fact, supported by scientific evidence, that when used correctly, multimedia learning resources have the highest learning outcome.

Video Response Technology

Ammonite's Video Response Technology allows course designers to include questions that require the student to respond by recording a video through their webcam.

It is a powerful assessment instrument particularly suited to situations where verbal communication is required. Having audio and video of the student definitely answers any authenticity concerns. It can be recalled at any stage in the future to provide evidence at audit, beyond what most classroom or face to face training can offer.

And of course the communication is two way! A trainer can send their own video feedback back to the student. The flexibility and convienence of online training is maintained without losing the personal touch of one-on-one mentoring.

Identification

Identification

If your RTO is required to sight or record a copy of a students photo ID, you will be pleased to know that an identification capturing process is natively built into the Ammonite TOMS.

Aside from just recording students photo identification (such as a drivers licence), the process can be used to capture a profile photo of the student or their signature. These can all be printed directly onto a certificate or card through the platform.

Watch this short clip to get an insight into the process:

Managing Site Specific Inductions

At Ammonite, we have adapted our Certificate Verification QR Codes to produce a student card designed to streamline the management of Site Specific Inductions.

The card can be scanned by a site supervisor with a smart phone to view a live profile of the person complete with photo, contact information, a full academic history and copies of other certificates and high risk work licences.

It is highly customisable, easy to implement and once setup is always up-to-date and therefore completely reduces administration costs.

How To Prevent Certificate Fraud: Part 2

This video show you how a univerisal solution can be implemented by encrypting QR Codes and therefore restricting their use to an official smartphone app.

This would make it possible for anyone to verify a certificate within seconds, saving time and money. The solution is incredibly cheap to implement, and would work equally well on all certificates, whether they are printed on paper or exist digitally such as PDF's.
